Fake It Until You Make It
The "Better Late Than Never" Edition...
It's very likely that we've all been challenged to "Fake It 'Til You Make It" a time or two. This is all about the posture you carry when you're an amateur who has the mindset of an expert. This is all about walking into a job interview knowing that you got the position. This is all about stepping onto the field during pre-season knowing you will win the Superbowl. This is all about moving into your freshman dorm knowing that you will graduate magna cum laude with the job offer of your dreams.
In real estate, sometimes you have to "Fake It 'Til You Make It" too. As rookie agents, your clients may inquire about how long you've "been in the business" but it's rare that they ask you exactly what year you started. Simply tell them that you've always loved real estate and that it's always been a passion of yours to become a Realtor. Even our seasoned agents who have sold over 100 homes in their careers may have to "Fake It" a little bit. Perhaps the 100 homes they've sold were all under 300k then they happen upon their first multi-million dollar client. You have to play the part!
So how do you "Fake It 'Til You Make It"? You must stay connected, you must ask questions, you must constantly be a student and you must remain humble. It's really that simple.
