Keeping Your Word

In sales, there is so much value in keeping your word. Whenever you over promise and under deliver, problems begin to arise. Sales professionals always have an uphill battle when it comes to securing and maintaining a client's trust. People tend to come into relationships with sales professionals with pre-fixed chips on their shoulders.

These chips often times are the direct result of horror stories told to them by their trusted friends and family. We have to earn their trust and the only way to do that is to provide amazing customer service. We must create an experience that is unmatched; we have to become the talk of the town within their sphere of influence. When we provide great service, they will tell 10 people but when we provide bad service, they will tell 50 people!

Here are some tips that will help you keep your word in this business:
  1. Always follow up! If you tell your client that you will have an update for them by the end of the day, you must contact them - even if you have no updates to report!

  3. Set your expectations clearly and set them early. Be sure to have an initial meeting/consultation with your new clients and explain your work style and your hours of operation to them.
  4. If a close friend or relative wants to work with you and you feel like there may be a conflict of interest, refer them to a fellow Exit Elite agent ASAP! A referral fee is better than nothing and it's worth it so that there's no strain on your relationship.
  5. Stay connected with your clients after settlement. Check in with them, attend their house warming event, wish them a happy birthday, send them handwritten notes. This yields referrals and makes them feel confident that your transaction wasn't just about the money.


So always remember to keep your word and to go above and beyond for your clients.
