The Blame Game!

Have you ever met a person who is always the victim? Nothing is ever their fault. Woe is them! The dog is constantly eating their homework. A storm cloud follows them everywhere they go and the rainbow never appears...

It's enlightening to realize how much a positive mindset can make a difference. Optimism beats pessimism any day of the week and twice on Mondays! Taking ownership of your own actions (or lack thereof) is the first step to establishing and maintaining success in any arena - accountability is always key. Let's face it, we all drop the ball sometimes but it's how you pick the ball back up that makes the difference. If you kick the ball to the curb and exit stage left; if you blame your next door neighbor or your boss for knocking it out of your hand; if you refuse to pick it back up because it's soiled and you refuse to get a little dirty, you can't blame anyone else for your lack of results but you! 

Successful sales professionals focus on the results - they are solution driven. Successful sales professionals use the word "no" and use objections as fuel. Successful sales professionals rub shoulders with the winners in their industry. Successful sales professionals are extremely coachable and are always willing to learn something new. Successful sales professionals are readers. Successful sales professionals have the mindset to evolve, knowing that there's always another level to reach. Successful sales professionals never blame others for their lack of success or their lack of results - they start with the man (or woman) in the mirror!

Blaming others only slows YOU down. It doesn't slow down the person you are blaming because even if they apologize for slowing you down, they will stay in their own lane and proceed like business as usual. Instead of blaming others, take that same energy and focus it on a task or a system or a book or an affirmation that will directly contribute to your success. This will make all the difference in the world!
