When I hear the words "I can", I reflect on 2 things in particular. First of all, this "little engine that could" comes to mind. In this tale, a long train must be pulled over a high mountain. Larger engines are asked to pull the train and they refuse, but a small engine agrees to try and succeeds while repeating the mantra "I think I can. I think I can. I think I can". The small engine overcomes a seemingly impossible task simply by having faith in itself.
The 2nd thing that comes to mind derived from the Bible. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", another example of the power of faith...
For those of you who are members of our Exit Elite VIP Facebook page, you may have noticed that our broker posted this evening about the meaning of the words "I can". So simple, yet so overwhelmingly profound. I would argue that "I can" takes a step beyond the little engine's belief because the little engine thought it could and had to convince itself that it could. You and I, we CAN - period, point blank!
Every challenge that we face involves a decision. We have to decide that we CAN. We CAN secure million dollar listings. We CAN close 10 deals a month. We CAN quit our full-time jobs to fully pursue our real estate careers. We CAN make 6-figures solely off of Exit residuals. We CAN retire at the age of 40 and travel the world. We CAN. We CAN. We CAN!
So as we consider what's in store for this brand new year, I challenge you to believe that you CAN. It's not about what didn't work in 2015. It's not about the broken heart that keeps you awake at night. It's not about the overdraft fees in your checking account. It's about what you CAN do to change it into something positive, lucrative and fulfilling. It's about how you can influence and encourage others that they CAN too. So look forward and think optimistically about what lies ahead because simply put, you CAN have it all!
