It has become cliche to make new year's resolutions. Everyone says "New Year, New Me" and we forget about this "new" version of ourselves before the end of the month. It recently dawned on me that the new year is a great opportunity to reflect on what we "KNEW" instead...

It's pretty safe to acknowledge that we all made some mistakes in 2015. Whether it was a mistake in business that affected our income or a personal mistake that impacted a relationship in a negative way, there are some things we could've done differently. Let's take it a step further as we reflect on our real estate business and let's be transparent. There are some things that we KNEW we could have and should have done differently and we just didn't do them!

We can go to every single training, log into every single webinar and view every single YouTube video that gives us the exact formula to be successful and we still won't do the work. I will raise my hand and admit that I've been guilty of this in the past. What happens is, I see the light for only a moment and then it begins to dim (rather, I allow it to dim). I get excited about making the changes and I try the new system for a day or two, or even a week or two, then I fall back into my bad habits. Please, please, please tell me I'm not the only one who's guilty of this (#LetTheChurchSayAmen)! It's easy to slip back into comfortable behavior because it's comfortable. It's challenging to develop new habits so when we don't have immediate results, we revert back to what we're used to. This is a HUGE mistake and it's holding us hostage from experiencing abundance.

Think about what you KNEW. Think about the things that you were taught, the systems you were introduced to that were designed to take your business to the next level. Think about the trainings you KNEW you should have attended. Think about the Success Plan you KNEW you should have written. It's the things that we KNEW that are blocking our blessings. Have you ever heard the saying, "If you know better, you do better"? Well, we know so let's do!

When you really reflect on the things in your life that didn't yield the success you had anticipated, you realize that you KNEW what to do while you were in it but you just didn't do it. We often see this when a marriage dissolves. I KNEW that I could have been a better wife if I had done this. I KNEW that my wife complained about xyz and I should have just stopped. It's the same in business. I KNEW that prospecting for business every single day would put deals in the pipeline for me. I KNEW I shouldn't have blown off the sales meetings. I KNEW I should've followed up with that buyer. Let's release this KNEWness and focus on the action of doing. DO BETTER and you will look up at the end of the 1st quarter of the year and notice some different results. Don't let what you KNEW hold you back in 2016 - it's time to evolve!
